Titles with effects // FFA Arena!
>> Titles with effects <<
This is a work in progress. I've been observing the game for a while and trying to work out for myself balance issues and feasability. Anyway, here are some examples that make my idea pretty clear, but aren't necessarily any good for implementation themselves.
Obviously, some are just for fun.
Title Name / Title Criteria / Title Effect
"Weh No Su" - Ascend in Cantha - Starry Aura in Combat Zones
"Ascended" - Ascend in Tyria - Gold Aura in Combat Zones
"Darkened Spirit" - Suffer death while affected by X number of curses/hexes - +20% to attack/casting speed and -20% maximum health and energy while affected by X or more curses/hexes.
"Boneless" - Corpse is exploited for 1000 minions - +10% blunt damage resistance
"Good Karma" - Die while enchanted - Enchantment glyphs are emoticons
"Bad Karma" - Die while cursed - Enchantment glyphs are emoticons
"Canthan Dragon" - Complete Factions Campaign - /dragon for an emote similar to /rank ((not depending upon "mastery" of every mission))
"Prophecised Hero" - Complete Prophecy Campaign - /prophecy for an emote similar to /rank ((not depending upon "bonus" of every mission))
Note: Glyphs, as I call them, are the little icons that circle a character while they're enchanted, cursed or hexed.
>> FFA Arena.. <<
A huge circular arena (like a colloseum), with 24 "pens", each containing a combatant that enters via the "enter mission" option in the FFA Arena lobby (like the Random Arena "lobby"). Free for all combat ensues- all against all. Madness. MUST be observable. XD
Final Note: Just to certifiy, I *did* spend a fair amount of time checking to make sure that this hadn't been suggested before. My apologies if I'm wrong.
FEEDBACK PEOPLE!!!

No. If the titles gave modifiers, it would totally throw anything balance related out the window. Titles are just for fun to show them off, not to give you some +10% damage modifiers, that would only favor the people spending lot of time getting the title. :P
Nonononononononono. NO.

What about FFA arena? I think I'd spend forever there-- and before anyone says "bleeeeeh, that's not what the game's about, no skill -whine-", GW is also about FUN, and what could be more fun?!

/not-signed on both ideas
although the idea of a FFA might interest some it just doesn't do it for me and the titles r ummmm rather dumb i think they should just stay the way they r and not give u any kind of advantage over other ppl like +dmg modifiers and i would find it rather annoying imo seeing a bunch of ppl running around in combat areas with auras/stars all around there chars

things that aren't unique/special....in otherwords really hard to get are annoying. I would HATE it if everyone glowed because they were ascended... How am I supposto heal in FoW with that distracting me?

Free for All?
I can imagine a Nuker or a SS Necro just hiding until the groups bunch up in the middle.

Since half the skills on a monk are target other ally, I don't think GW is a 1v1 game. Since, it will be so heavily dependent on counters etc, its not about skill and it will get old very fast. TBH if you want your 1v1 e-penis growing fests, keep it in your guild scrims and out of my beautiful game.
Also, W/Mo would not win out. There are many MANY ways for all classes to restrain them. SV/IW/Distort/Ignorance Slasher anyone?
